I graduated from Cornell University in 1999 with a B.A. in Philosophy and Psychology, received my Ph.D. from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2007, joined the Philosophy Department of the University of Wisconsin Colleges (at the Washington County campus) as an Assistant Professor in 2008, was tenured and promoted to Associate Professor in 2014, and worked in the College of General Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 2018 until August 2025. My professional interests included virtue ethics, the philosophy of sport, the moral limits of markets, neoliberalism, the use of popular culture in teaching, and writing for non-academic audiences.
